This 46-year-old Mercedes that my friend and I took to Monterey performed flawlessly over 750+ miles in 4 days. Thanks, Mercedes, for building such an amazing car.

Those are pretty but also very expensive cars. Nice to see that some still see a lot of driving.

My parents had a couple of old Benz’s growing up. Great cars. My favorite was the 1972 280 SE 4.5. That was a great car to drive on the highway. The v8 just purring at 75mph.
How was putting the top up and down on your Benz? I've never been in a convertible MB before.

280SE 3.5 low grille cabrio - you have a fortunate friend, as these aren’t exactly inexpensive cars :) Not many of these final run cars were built. It’s easily into the low six figures now, nice to see it being enjoyed.

One of my favorite classic Mercs, and a very appropriate car for Monterey.

That is one beautiful, wonderful car. And perfect for the occasion.

Wow, what a great looking car. Love the stacked headlights. Cars today are just so hideous looking.

These are truly great cars, even now. What a fine way to cover miles. I would happily own a 280SE, either with a six or the 4.5. The sedans are cheap, too!
